Stair lifts for
dogs
A stair lift for a dog - is
that possible?
Many people who live in
properties on more than one level may well own a dog who
finds it difficult to climb or go down stairs.
A healthy, strong owner
could choose to carry their dog up and down the
stairs.
But some owners may not have
the strength to carry their pet.
Is a stair lift a sensible
option for a dog?
Placing a dog on top of a
stair lift seat designed for a human being might be
hazardous.
Some people have chosen to
install a platform lift, on top of which a dog can lie as it
is taken upstairs.
Any owner would have to
assess the risks involved. Would their dog be likely to get
upset on a stair lift or would they be
comfortable?
A large dog may require a
much bigger area to be carried on than a smaller
animal.
